Speaking at the "Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue" conference, Djedovic pointed out that Serbia achieved its goals regarding the share of RES in the energy mix by 2020, and in the new strategic documents, which are being prepared, we are moving towards a much more ambitious goal for RES until 2030, but also in terms of increasing energy efficiency and reducing emissions of harmful gases.
At the panel "Global Energy Transition: Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Development", the Minister said that Serbia shares a vision with EU members to move towards carbon neutrality, and as part of the Energy Community, it transfers European regulations into its legislation, even though it is not a member of the EU.
Together with our international partners, we will work to secure funds so that the energy transition is financially sustainable and socially just, and in the process stimulate the creation of new jobs, sustainable mining and the use of modern technologies, such as hydrogen, but also greater utilisation of critical mineral raw materials, with which our country is very rich, in a sustainable way, she pointed out.
On the sidelines of the conference in Berlin, Djedovic talked today with German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck and with State Secretary in the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Jochen Flasbarth about bilateral cooperation and projects in the field of energy.
