Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić discussed today with Minister of Defence of the Republic of Zimbabwe Oppah Chamu Zvipange Muchinguri-Kashiri aspects of cooperation in the field of defence that would contribute to the development of overall bilateral relations between the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to the planning and implementation of activities of common interest to both countries.
Gašić emphasised that Serbia appreciates Zimbabwe’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, as well as Zimbabwe’s firm position on the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.
According to him, this represents another confirmation of the traditional friendship, mutual respect and understanding that characterise the relations between the two countries.
The Minister said that Serbia is firmly committed to protecting and pursuing its interests peacefully, while consistently advocating for the principles of sovereign equality of states, respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law.
Muchinguri-Kashiri highlighted the importance of further strengthening the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries, assessing that there is room for advancing cooperation in the field of defence.
