Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Fatoumata Jau, who is leading her country's delegation at a high-level commemorative meeting dedicated to marking the 65th anniversary of the First Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade.
Đurić said that there is a mutual interest in the relations between Serbia and Guinea-Bissau gaining new dynamics and more concrete content, recalling that last year marked 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The interlocutors agreed that the good political relations between Serbia and Guinea-Bissau should be accompanied by a significant improvement in economic cooperation, which currently does not reflect the potential and quality of relations between the two countries.
In this context, the interlocutors discussed the possibilities for more concrete linking of the economies of the two countries.
During the meeting, it was also agreed to establish the practice of regular bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Guinea-Bissau, with the aim of intensifying political dialogue and more efficient monitoring of cooperation agreements in various areas.
