Serbia makes progress towards economy with zero carbon dioxide emissions

Djedovic said that the goal is to obtain the highest quality document through public discussion and consultation with the Energy Community, adding that it is expected that amendments to the Law on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) will be adopted soon, which will create conditions for conducting auctions for the production of electricity from renewable sources.
According to her, these changes will enable increasing RES capacities, as well as ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the power system, which is key to the sustainability of the energy transition.
Lorkowski said that Serbia is progressing on the way to an economy with zero carbon dioxide emissions, and he expressed his satisfaction with the amendments to the Law on the Use of RES that open the way for the first auctions and encourage the use of renewable energy sources.
