Dačić said that from 1 June to 9 July, 6,831 emergency events were recorded, of which the majority were fires and explosions - 5,821.
Of the total number of fires, 4,846 were recorded in open areas, the Deputy Prime Minister noted, adding that all capacities of the Ministry of the Interior were used to bring them under control.
Acting Assistant Minister and Head of the Emergency Situations Sector Luka Čaušić pointed out that on 7 July, when as many as 628 fires were recorded during 12 hours, 2,037 firefighters and rescuers from all over Serbia were engaged in interventions, with more than 700 vehicles.
Minister for Public Investment Darko Glišić reported that 162 residential buildings have so far been reported to have been completely or partially destroyed in the affected areas.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Professor Dragan Glamočić, PhD, said that according to preliminary data, approximately 50 to 60 hectares of agricultural land and a few dozen tons of livestock feed were destroyed in the fires, as well as a smaller amount of livestock, which has already been secured.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović said that, through the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, a meeting is planned with businessmen and companies with the aim of securing donations in the form of construction materials and other equipment needed to repair the damage.
