Rapid, concrete state action to repair consequences of fires

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Professor Dragan Glamočić, PhD, visited the Municipality of Blace, one of the most endangered by the fires that have swept the Toplica District in recent days, where he spoke with the locals and visited the most affected farms.

Pointing out that people were left without what they had created for generations in the blink of an eye, Glamočić said that the state will provide all necessary assistance so that the consequences could be mitigated as soon as possible and life in this area could return to normal.

Houses, sheds, stables, machinery, animals and plantations burned down. This is not just material damage – it is a blow to a way of life. Therefore, the state will act quickly, concretely and in solidarity, Glamočić emphasised.

The Ministry of Agriculture has already activated expert services on the ground, which, in cooperation with local authorities, are working to record the damage and prepare a support plan. At the same time, additional humanitarian aid is being organized for the most vulnerable, in cooperation with other departments and citizens across Serbia.
