Speaking at the 15th jubilee conference on economic reforms in Serbia and the official presentation of the “Grey Book 2023” by NALED, with 100 recommendations for the government for removing administrative barriers to doing business in Serbia, Brnabic said that the introduction of eFarm is almost completed.
She pointed out that, also, one of the important things in the continuation of the reforms this year will be the amendment of the Law on Planning and Construction, which will solve the problem of conversion, with a compensation, of the right of use to the right of ownership over construction land.
After this, the issue of legalisation of buildings will be resolved too, the Prime Minister underlined, voicing hope that from 2024 we will be much more successful in this respect than this year.
The Prime Minister recalled that the system of social cards started last year, which has been the most complex undertaking to date.
NALED made it possible for all the governments over the past 15 years to change Serbia for the better and to improve business environment, Brnabic stated.
She underlined that for Serbia it is very important that it switched over from an economy based on labour-intensive investments to an economy based on knowledge, innovation and new technologies, which brings much faster and more dynamic growth.
According to her, during 2022, we had €4.4 billion in foreign direct investment despite difficult and challenging times, and this year will also be difficult.
Brnabic pointed out that the state has worked on the introduction of eMedical Record for two years already and that in 2023 a whole series of regulations in the fields of health care and insurance will be changed so that eMedical Record could become operational and the pillar of the entire health system.
According to her, two systemic solutions for public administration were completed during 2022 – the unique education information system which is connected to the labour market and the social cards system.
She also said that the south of central Serbia has entered the very last stage of the fight for one more important investment – a new research and development centre, adding that she received the good news before coming to this NALED conference.
The fight for this investment will continue as soon as next week, when I will have meetings on this topic, so that we could try to win and soon mark another important investment based on knowledge and innovation that pushes Serbia forward even faster than we have been going until now, the Prime Minister underlined.
