Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met with Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Serbia Fedor Rosocha, who symbolically handed her a cheque for the donation of vaccines against the infectious disease COVID-19.
The vaccines produced by Pfizer were delivered to our country on 13 January, containing 300,000 doses of the adapted omicron variants and 20,000 doses of the original vaccine. The value of the donation is close to €6.3 million. This donation is the most valuable humanitarian aid donation in the history of Slovakia.
Brnabic expressed her immense gratitude to Slovakia and the Slovak people for this valuable help, pointing out that this is one of the best examples of cooperation between the countries of the world, especially in today's challenging geopolitical circumstances.
The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to Slovakia for its principled position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
She reminded that Serbia was one of the first countries in the world to start vaccination against the coronavirus and that at that time it helped a lot both European countries and less developed countries that were in dire need of help at that time.
Brnabic thanked Slovakia for supporting our European integration, and underlined that membership in the European Union remains Serbia's strategic goal.
Rosocha said that he is convinced that sooner or later Serbia will become a member of the European Union because, according to him, geographically and historically Serbia is Europe.
