Preserving peace, stability crucial point in policy towards Kosovo and Metohija

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today at a special session of the National Assembly that Pristina, together with part of the Western allies has been trying, since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, to change the situation in Kosovo and Metohija by avoiding the obligation to form the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO).

At the session, on whose agenda is the Report on the negotiation process with temporary institutions in Pristina from 1 September 2022 to 15 January 2023, Vucic presented a ten-point plan on Serbia's policy in the coming period.

Point 1: Our policy will be to preserve peace and stability by almost any means and at any cost, to refrain and not give in to provocation unless people's lives and property are threatened, because peace and stability are not slogans, it is something that brings life in Serbia, which allows us to preserve the biological survival of our people.

Point 2: Persistence on the formation of the ZSO, which must be the legal and physical framework for the rights of our people and their organisation in Kosovo and Metohija, with the support of Serbia, which no one must prevent.

Point 3: Security for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, so that no one worries when a child is sent to school, because he or she has a Serbian name and surname.

Point 4: Better life for our people in Kosovo and Metohija.

Point 5: To discuss and negotiate all topics concerning all key issues regarding the cooperation of Serbs and Albanians and to discuss how and in what way they should be represented in any bodies.

Point 6: Preservation of our vital state and national interests, preservation of our independent decision-making, that no one interferes, that we do not go to Washington, Moscow or Brussels for opinions, that decisions are made only in Serbia, with respect for the Constitution of Serbia.

Point 7: Our vital interest is to stay on the European path because the European path means investments and standards, salaries and pensions.

Point 8: The growth of Serbia, energy, food and the army, where food is very important, the army must be two or three times stronger than it is today, because it saved our people in Kosovo and Metohija. We need the development of healthcare, in which we must invest more.

Point 9: Continuation of talks, we don't stop the talks, because we would be completely isolated, no one would talk to us, and we cannot function in the modern world on our own.

Point 10: Despite all the crises, wages will rise, we will reach some EU countries, and that will bring people back to Serbia.

Vucic also said at the session that Pristina does not want to form the Community of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo and Metohija, even though this was prescribed by the Brussels Agreement as early as 2013. They only want to provoke a war and bring Serbia into conflict with NATO and the whole world, and to present themselves as a victim.
