In her message, Brnabic told future generations to continue the spark of ingenious innovation and creativity, which has existed in this region for thousands of years, and to make us proud.
The Prime Minister stated that future generations of creative people from Lozionica should introduce their society to a new technological revolution, because Lozionica will be an engine of progress and a beacon in the future.
According to her, the government's goal is for the Serbian economy to be based on knowledge and innovation, so that Serbia moves forward much faster, to make up for lost time and show all the potential it has as a country and a people.
She recalled that four science and technology parks have been opened in Serbia in the last few years - in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Cacak and announced that the construction of four more will begin this year, the first of which will be in Krusevac, followed by construction in Kragujevac.
Lozionica is the jewel in the crown of everything we do, because it is a symbiosis of all those things, she pointed out.
Brnabic emphasised that this is the first government in the history of Serbia to take a loan for cultural infrastructure.
Until recently, we looked at creative industries with scorn, and today they employ 155,000 people in Serbia, even 30,000 more than two years ago, Brnabic stated and emphasised that every seventh entrepreneur and every sixth company is from the creative sector.
The Prime Minister said that the government invested €52 million in the construction of Lozionica.
The Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mihailo Jovanovic said that a century after its establishment, Lozionica will become a meeting place for talent, innovators and creative people, the likes of which Belgrade, Serbia and the region have not seen, and that it will represent an innovative and creative hub, a centre of excellence, urban and dynamic life and creativity.
Our capital city will get a new unique feature and tourist attraction that will equally attract the professional public and domestic and foreign tourists, said Jovanovic and added that in the next two years it will be one of the largest construction sites in Serbia.
The Minister stated that the works will include the reconstruction of Lozionica on 4,800 square metres, while preserving its distinctive appearance, the reconstruction of the water tower and turnstile and the construction of a new annex building of 11,000 square metres, an underground garage and a large park, and the complete complex will cover more than 23,000 square metres.
According to him, Lozionica will have numerous contents for creative people, innovators and artists of various profiles, and it will also have a hall for events and gatherings, designed and equipped according to the elaborations of the biggest domestic experts in acoustics.
It is particularly important that there will be the first incubator for creative industries, as well as numerous spaces for the activities of creative people, Jovanovic underlined and added that he is using the opportunity to launch an initiative that the new annex building, which will contribute that the location also has a business component, be named after great Serbian man and scientist Milutin Milankovic.
The ambassadors of the national platform "Serbia Creates" also put their messages in a capsule that will be placed in the foundations of Lozionica, and will be opened after 50 years.
The creative innovative multifunctional centre Lozionica, as a public purpose facility, is primarily focused on content from the domain of creative industries, innovation and the knowledge-based economy.
The idea is for Lozionica to become a landmark of Belgrade - a destination that attracts Belgraders and tourists alike, foreign and local, a place of creation and meeting of talent.
A place that, with its authenticity and creative energy, is becoming the centre of new trends in creativity and the knowledge-based economy.
The project of reconstruction and adaptation of Lozionica is part of the strategic determination of the government of the Republic of Serbia to support the development of an innovative and creative ecosystem, favourable for domestic and foreign investments.
The sector of creative industries already makes up more than 7.4 percent of Serbia's GDP, and in the last six years alone it has achieved a growth of 60 percent, while the cumulative growth of the sector's exports, in the same period, is 51 percent.
This project is also in line with strategic documents such as the Smart Specialisation Strategy, which recognises creative industries, especially the video games and visual effects sector, as the engine of the future sustainable economic and social development of our country.
