Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated that the Serbian government adopted today the 2030 National Youth Strategy, which is one of the most important documents that deals with the position of the youth.
Brnabic said that this document prescribes priorities of the youth policy to 2030 and that is why it is important that those who are affected by it the most – the young – got included in the process of its creation and adoption.
The Prime Minister thanked the organisations of civil society that contributed to this document the most, citing the Youth Organisation of Serbia, The National Association of Youth Work Practitioners, the National Association of Offices for Youth, the Youth Union of the OPENS Association and the Centre for Youth Work.
More than 2,000 young people participated in this process in various ways, the Prime Minister underlined, expressing her belief that even more of them will be involved during the creation of the action plan that will accompany the Strategy.
The most significant novelties in the Strategy relate to the recognition and standardisation of local youth policy and mechanisms for how all departments can allocate more funds for youth and contribute to intersectoral cooperation in the field of youth support.
