In his address to the public after a session of the National Security Council, Vucic said that the situation with the re-registration of vehicles in Kosovo and Metohija is still unchanged and that only two people have replaced their license plates so far, which indicates that Pristina does not have any support for this move among citizens.
According to him, Serbian people only want international law to be respected and he conveyed that to international representatives.
People in Kosovo and Metohija know what the state is doing for them, how much it tries to avoid conflict, to preserve peace, said Vucic and noted that we try to transfer injections, vaccines and everything else in a situation when the Pristina authorities stop vehicles with medicines. We are trying to ensure sufficient income for people who work in healthcare, education, and businesses.
We will continue to provide this and any kind of support, and in case of endangerment of the people, we will not allow pogrom and persecution, the President said.
He said that he is worried about the acceleration around Kosovo and Metohija after the latest changes on the battlefield in Ukraine.
Vucic previously reported that he had received a new proposal from the envoys of French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the EU's Special Envoy for Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak for a completely new structure of talks and negotiations in Brussels, which should lead to an imminent final settlement of all unresolved issues related to Kosovo and Metohija.
When asked by the journalist if he could explain in more detail what this practically means, the President said that in the coming period there will be many more activities, attempts and pressures when it comes to the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.
Speaking about the announced EuroPride, he underlined that, after analysing the security situation at the session of the National Security Council in this regard, the Ministry of the Interior, in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Serbia, will make a decision 96 hours before the outdoor gathering and that the organisers will have the right of appeal and the possibility of a dispute before the administrative court.
We are concerned about security, because we have in mind the seriousness of the situation in which our country is, we do not want to see any conflicts, because then the police would have to be present in greater numbers, which the state wants to avoid, Vucic explained.
