Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that the upcoming winter will be difficult and that is why everything is being done to ensure enough energy for citizens and the economy, noting that Serbia has shown that it can manage crisis situations.
Appearing on Pink Television, Brnabic said that a contract was signed with Hungary on gas storage for our needs, as well as that the filling of storage in that country and our storage in Banatski Dvor has begun.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the crisis from other countries is pouring into Serbia and that, if the German economy stops, which employs more than 75,000 people here, our country will have a huge problem.
Brnabic pointed out that the state is therefore fighting for the price of gas and electricity in order to make the domestic economy competitive, as well as foreign and domestic companies.
The Prime Minister also said that the resolution on Serbia, which was recently adopted by the European Parliament (EP), is a non-binding document but also a clear message, first of all, to the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.
She assessed that the point of adopting such documents is to constantly put pressure on Serbia, adding that the EP resolution is fully in line with the policy that says that the Brussels Agreement exists for Belgrade but not for Pristina.
That agreement bears the signature of Brussels, that is, of Catherine Ashton. How can you ask for something from Belgrade and for more than nine years you cannot ensure the implementation of the agreement which has 15 points, stated the Prime Minister.
According to her, the first six points of the Brussels Agreement refer to the Community of Serbian Municipalities, and the remaining nine have already been fulfilled by Belgrade.
Brnabic repeated that in the official EU document for Chapter 35, mutual recognition of Serbia and "Kosovo" is not mentioned anywhere, but that "Kosovo" is represented by an asterisk in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
