According to the strategy, corruption is to be fought through repression, education and prevention, that is by reducing the possibilities for the occurrence of corruption.
Concrete measures, tasks and deadlines for carrying out these steps, as well as the names of persons who will be in charge of conducting these duties, will be specified by an action plan that should soon be adopted.
The strategy aims to stall corruption and reach a high level of anticorruption awareness in Serbia.
The concrete aims of the strategy are to remove the conditions favourable for the continuation and further expansion of corruption, to establish a legal and institutional framework for preventing corruption, to establish criminal and moral liability for illegal actions, as well as ethical standards.
Members of the Serbian parliament also adopted today by a majority vote a package of laws on science – the Law on Scientific and Research Activities, the Law on Innovation, the Law on the Serbian Encyclopaedia and the Law on the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences (SANU) Dictionary.
