After a meeting with deputy special representative for Kosovo-Metohija of the UN Secretary General Jean Dussourd, Raskovic-Ivic said that that is very important because it will help the implementation of decentralisation, which is crucial for the democratisation and survival of the Serb and other non-Albanian communities.
She added that the organisation of police stations is in line with the upcoming negotiations, which will include decentralisation in the entire territory of Kosovo.
Raskovic-Ivic expressed conviction that UNMIK will help Serb municipalities and the development of Serb institutes in Kosovo-Metohija in the same way as it has helped the formation of temporary institutions in Kosovo-Metohija.
According to Raskovic-Ivic, in talks with Dussourd the issue of extending the mandate of the organisation Habitat was also discussed, which keeps records and makes inventories of Serb property and its return.
Dussourd said that in the coming week he will meet with the leadership of northern Kosovska Mitrovica, concerning the issue of determining police command on a local level, but in such a way that it builds up trust also in the Serb community and leads to their security.
