Projects were presented by Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo, Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic and Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov, as well as President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Slobodan Milosavljevic.
At the end of the conference, representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Trade-Industrial Chamber of Russia signed an agreement on exchange of professional information.
Milosavljevic said at that occasion that the agreement will allow cost free exchange of information on tenders, public purchase, plans of reconstruction and modernisation, as well as all other information useful for the companies of the two countries.
He explained that in this way Serbian and Russian businessmen will be able to make timely and adequate preparations for possible participation in tenders.
Milosavljevic also said that today a memorandum on forming a Serbian-Russian business council was signed.
Minister Parivodic said following the press conference that it is very important for further intensive cooperation between Serbia and Russia and that the agreement on free trade between the two countries should be ratified as soon as possible. He recalled that such an agreement is the only one that Russia has with any country in southeastern Europe.
Parivodic said that for a strong Serbia in the Balkans, ratification, which has been expected already for five years, should be accelerated.
On the second day of the national exhibition of Serbian economy in Moscow, the main issue discussed by the Serbian and Russian officials was the possibility of intensifying bilateral economic cooperation.
Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Bojan Dimitrijevic met with Moscow's deputy mayor Iosif Ordzhonikidze. The two officials discussed further directions for implementing a memorandum on cooperation between the Serbian government and Moscow that was signed in May 2004.
Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic met with Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Vitali Saveliev, while Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov met with Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Ivan Materov on the issue of future cooperation in the energy sector.
Serbian Assistant Minister of Energy and Mining Slobodan Sekulovic and Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian gas company Gazprom, discussed perspectives for cooperation between the two countries in the gas sector.
Bilateral relations in the agricultural sector were the main point on the agenda at the meeting between State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Danilo Golubovic and Director of the Department for International and Regional Cooperation in the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Andrei Vershinin. State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Health Nevena Karanovic and Russian Deputy Health and Social Development Minister Vladimir Starodubov discussed possibilities for cooperation in the health sector.
