Speaking at a seminar on investment opportunities in Serbia organised by the Swedish Embassy, Jocic said that the value of the investment for the first phase of the ring road, 47 kilometres in length, including reconstruction of the Gazela bridge, is €350 million.
The most important projects in Serbia are those linked to corridors 10 and 7, and to the Danube and Sava rivers, Jocic said and added that it is necessary to reconstruct part of the E75 road from the Hungarian border to Belgrade, as well as the part of the European regional road Belgrade - Pozega, which is the first part of the construction of the highway Belgrade - south Adriatic.
Jocic recalled that a “twining project” is in progress, which has been implemented by the Serbian Road Directorate in cooperation with partners from Sweden, and also that the Serbian government has allocated a sum of €1.5 million for enhancing capacity.
He said that investments are required for the railway network, specifically for the reconstruction of the railway tracks on the Belgrade - Nis line €16 million is needed, a sum of €18 million for the Belgrade - Bar line, €34 million for the Pancevo - Vrsac line, and a sum of €133 million is needed for the Belgrade railway knot, and also funds necessary for financing the reconstruction of railway bridges in Novi Sad.
Jocic said that concerning industrial cooperation with Sweden, the priorities are to secure 30,000 tonnes of rails, railway switches and crossings, railway tracks and machines for the maintenance of tracks.
Jocic recalled that cooperation already exists in the area of telecommunication, and invited Swedish businessmen also to invest in the building of harbours and free zones.
