At a working breakfast for journalists organised by the Serbian EU Integration Office and the Conrad Adenauer Foundation, Majstorovic said that the implementation of the strategy will be carried out by consultants from the agency “Mostra” from Brussels and “Kreativa” from Belgrade, and that the entire project, which will last a year, is being financed with a sum of nearly €400,000 from the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).
He said that the project aims to improve the method of informing the media and public on questions related to Serbia’s EU integration process, and added that the Serbian EU Integration Office will soon start a campaign directed towards improving the image of Serbia in the EU.
Expert Xavier Marchelidon, who during the upcoming year will be engaged as media advisor working within the framework of the EU Integration Office projects financed by the EAR, said that the aim of the communication strategy is to increase awareness of citizens and the media in Serbia concerning questions related to EU integration and the method according to which the EU functions.
Marchelidon said that newspapers will carry advertisements about EU accession, which will aim to raise the awareness among the citizens of Serbia concerning the importance of EU integration. He added that domestic television programmes will show five-minute reports on the EU.
