Speaking at a press conference, Raskovic-Ivic said that the talks were conducted with the US Congress, the State Department, the National Security Council and the Helsinki Committee representatives, all of whom, as she said, expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Serbian side will not insist on only one issue in the discussion, unlike the Albanian side, which is willing to talk only about independence.
Serbia has been marked a serious negotiator. A message of the US policy is that the talks are going to be arduous, but principled, said the head of the Coordinating Centre, and pointed out that such a position is encouraging for Serbia, because it guarantees the full respect of the international law, UN Security Council Resolution 1244, as well as findings and opinions of the Badinter Commission.
Raskovic-Ivic said that she presented to her US interlocutors the four sets of issues the Serbian side insists on, namely the legal status of Kosovo-Metohija, decentralisation and horizontal linking of municipalities, economy and within it the full respect of property rights and the issue of security.
