Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with representatives of the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences (SANU), Belgrade University, Matica Srpska Society and US software giant Microsoft.
As part of cooperation with the Serbian government, Microsoft has prepared a localised version of Microsoft Office 2003 in the Serbian language.
During the meeting, the participants stressed the importance of the localisation of software to the Serbian language, both in Cyrillic and in Latin scripts. The need to constantly improve the quality of Serbian translations of software products was also pointed out.
The cooperation between the Serbian government and Microsoft also includes a donation of 50,000 licences for Microsoft’s applications in Serbian to the country’s academic institutions.
