Macut thanked members of the Emergency Situations Sector, especially firefighters-rescuers, for the courage, selflessness and dedication they demonstrate every day in protecting the lives and property of Serbia’s citizens.
Through your work, courage and selflessness, you have shown how much Serbia can rely on you. As Prime Minister, I am proud of you, and as a citizen of this country, I am deeply grateful to you. I believe that the whole of Serbia shares that feeling, the Prime Minister said.
He noted that the entire country had followed their work not only over the past few months but throughout the previous year, stressing that thanks to their efforts not a single human life had been lost, nor had a large number of buildings been destroyed.
Macut congratulated members of the Sector on their slava and presented them with an icon of the White Angel, wishing that the White Angel would watch over them on every journey and during every intervention, just as they protect citizens’ lives and safety every day.
Assistant Minister of the Interior and Head of the Emergency Situations Sector Luka Čaušić said that since the Sector was established, it has carried out 560,000 interventions and rescued 33,897 people, which speaks to the selflessness of firefighters-rescuers.
