In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Bozovic, who is taking part in the fifth European conference of Inspector Generals in Lisbon, said that it implies that citizens are taking a more active part in the fight against corruption, thus better protecting their human rights.
He said that in addressing the participants of the conference dedicated to human rights and police conduct, he presented the latest results of the work of the Inspectorate General.
Bozovic said that he especially stressed the respect of human rights, preventive struggle against torture, misuse, overstepping limits of authority, misuse of official position, abuse in the service and fight against corruption.
He stressed the need of greater engagement of Serbian citizens in an anti-criminal and anti-corruption coalition of the entire society and said that citizens should feel encouraged and make their contribution in protecting their own human and citizen rights and freedom.
The conference in Lisbon will come to a close tomorrow with the adoption of its conclusions and with the recommendation that the next, sixth European conference of Inspector Generals, heads of interior control, anti-corruption bodies and those of the European Union, will be held next November in Budapest.
