At a meeting held within the framework for preparation for implementation of the new method of registration of entrepreneurs, Loncar expressed his conviction that the beginning of the implementation of the Law on registration of companies will be a real test for all 165 municipalities in Serbia.
Director of the Business Register Agency Dragisa Okolisanov recalled that from January 1, 2006 the agency has taken over the work of registering entrepreneurs in all the 165 municipalities on the territory of Serbia.
According to Okolisanov, the purpose of the reclassification of private entrepreneurs in the register of the agency is the establishment of a single register of all companies and definition of data that is being registered.
Okolisanov said that over five and a half months of this year, 66,500 companies have been reclassified and added that the agency has taken over the jurisdiction of trade courts for the registration, resulting in better conditions for registration and a shortening of the time required for registration from 51 days down to only three to five days.
He said that in a period of 11 months, 8,000 new companies have been registered, and from January to November the agency received 140,000 different applications.
Okolisanov said that the expenditure on reclassification and the formation of a single data base of companies has reached 120 million dinars.
The meeting was organised by the Serbian Ministry of Finance and the Business Register Agency, and it was attended by the municipal presidents, heads and secretaries for finance, as well as employees designated to make entries in the register.
