Participating in a panel discussion dedicated to investment climate and development of small and medium-sized enterprises, Dimitrijevic presented the audience with the investment climate in Serbia, its macroeconomic indicators and results from the privatisation process.
On this occasion, the minister invited prospective investors to invest in Serbia and said that privatisation is developing as planned and that the level of investments this year is higher than expected.
According to Dimitrijevic, privatisation of socially-owned companies will be completed by late 2006, and the privatisation of most important public companies will take place in the upcoming period.
During the meeting, Dimitrijevic held a number of bilateral meetings with prospective investors - representatives of banks, Austria's Telekom and companies willing to invest in hotels and business space in Serbia.
He said that a large number of contacts have yet to be made and added that there is a great interest in investing in the Balkans, especially in Serbia, and that is why new investments are expected in the following period.
