UN Security Council says talks on Kosovo-Metohija status to go ahead

The United Nations Security Council today approved the beginning of talks on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija.
Residing President of the Security Council for the month of October, Romanian Ambassador Mihnea Motoc, said today that the Security Council approved the recommendation presented by Secretary General Kofi Annan for beginning the political process of determining the future status of Kosovo-Metohija.
The Security Council agrees with the general opinions of special envoy of the Secretary General Kaj Eide that despite the challenges still faced by Kosovo-Metohija and the entire region, the moment has arrived to enter the next phase of the political process.
