Pointing to the fact that Germany is among the leading economic and foreign trade partners, Brnabic stated that this country is also one of the most important foreign investors in Serbia.
Approximately 400 companies with German capital and 67 thousand employees operate in our country, the Prime Minister stated and added that the fact that that number did not decrease even during the current pandemic situation is encouraging.
German companies helped increase the standards of work ethic in Serbia and have a significant influence on the market, she concluded.
The head of German diplomacy pointed out that the future should be built on close relations between our countries, through continuous support and strengthening of economic ties.
In terms of European integration, Germany supports the idea of enlarging the European Union to the Western Balkans region, Maas said, and expressed the expectation that reform processes in Serbia, primarily in the field of justice, will result in the opening of clusters this year.
He pointed out that the reform of the judiciary and the rule of law are important areas on the European path, and added that Serbia can expect help and support from Germany in achieving these goals.
Brnabic emphasised that Serbia is firmly committed to the European path, as well as the continuation of reforms and their implementation, in order to improve the lives of citizens.
As she explained, the government faces important tasks and great challenges, first of all the fight for health in the midst of the pandemic, which cannot slow down the completion of reforms in the field of justice, media freedoms and important reforms in the field of rule of law.
The government of Serbia is ready to make major strides in these areas, with the support of the non-governmental sector and civil society, but also partners from the European Union and the OSCE, with the greatest social consensus, the Prime Minister pointed out.
Brnabic assessed that Germany has a great role in expanding regional cooperation and that its role in the Berlin Process greatly influences the opportunities and the European path of the region.
Speaking about the situation in the region, the German Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out that Germany will continue to be an actor in expanding stability and cooperation in the region, and expressed support for the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
The officials expressed satisfaction with the completion of works on the new building of the German Embassy in Serbia, the opening of which, as assessed, symbolizes the relations between the two countries.
