Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, stated today that the adoption of the Bill on amendments to the Law on textbooks is a historic decision for our state, our children and society as a whole.
Macut described this as a victory of knowledge, national responsibility and Serbia’s sovereign right to educate its children according to its own values and standards.
He underlined that returning key school subjects to the hands of domestic authors and publishers is not just a change in law, but a civilisational message that Serbia has the strength, will and ability to independently shape its education system and its future.
Macut said that the state continues to build an education system that will not be subject to foreign influence, but the foundation of a strong, smart and free Serbia.
