Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, talked today with UK Special Envoy to the Western Balkans Karen Pierce about Serbia's European path, regional stability and bilateral relations between the two countries.
Macut underlined that the European path is a strategic priority and a long-term commitment of our country, based on a clear vision of a modern, democratic and economically strong Serbia.
He emphasised that he sees a special space for improving cooperation between the two countries in the field of the economy, and said that the Serbian government is fully committed to implementing reforms, strengthening institutions and the rule of law.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening regional cooperation as a key element in the process of approaching the European Union, and added that security and stability in the Western Balkans are of key importance for our country.
The two officials assessed that there is room for further deepening cooperation between Serbia and the United Kingdom, especially through the implementation of concrete projects of common interest in the areas of the economy, education, security and climate challenge.
Pierce underlined that the United Kingdom remains firmly committed to cooperation with Serbia in promoting stability, dialogue and shared values in the region.
