Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with the world-renowned Russian ballet artist Sergei Polunin, who is on a visit to Serbia as part of the activities of his Foundation.
During a cordial and constructive conversation, Prime Minister Macut expressed his gratitude to Sergei Polunin for his dedication to the Sergei Polunin Foundation, which offers scholarships to the most talented young ballet artists from Serbia and the region and enables them to study at leading international ballet academies.
The Prime Minister underlined that the Serbian government highly appreciates the mission of the Foundation, whose goal is not only to support talent, but also to promote and develop ballet art in a winder context, through production, stage performances and cooperation with directors and choreographers.
Culture and education are important bridges for international cooperation and through joint programmes and initiatives it is possible the improve the access of young artists to quality education and global promotion, the Serbian Prime Minister underlined.
Prime Minister Macut pointed out that Serbia remains open to partnerships such as the partnership with the Sergei Polunin Foundation, which combines humanity, education and art.
The Prime Minister wished Polunin a lot of success in the Foundation’s further activities and stated that the Serbian government will support activities aimed at improving the cultural potential of young artists in Serbia.
