A member of the Kosovo Police Service, Sasa Durlevic, was shot at twice and wounded in an attack that occurred around midnight on a road near Strpce. Durlevic and two other police officers of Serb nationality were travelling in their police car when they were shot at by unidentified assailants.
After the attack on the Drajkovce-Firaja road, which is around six kilometres from Strpce, the policemen took Durlevic, who had been wounded in the arm and the leg, to the Medical Centre in Strpce where he was attended to immediately, the Tanjug news agency reported.
After that, Durlevic was taken by a Ukrainian unit of KFOR to the hospital on the US base Bondsteel, near Urosevac.
The attackers, shooting from the forest, opened fire on the vehicle while it was conducting a routine police patrol only one kilometre from a KFOR checkpoint.
The location is seven kilometres away from Banjica,
where two Serb youths, Ivan Dejanovic and Aleksandar Stankovic, were killed on August 27 in an attack that also left another two wounded.
