Submitting a three-month progress report on the Serbian parliament’s work, Markovic said that 45 laws have already been adopted during this period, which will along with the 7 laws that are currently on the parliament’s agenda, and an additional 12 laws that will be adopted in the upcoming sessions, round off Serbia’s set of laws necessary for the beginning of talks on the SAA.
Markovic stressed that laws which are a pre-requisite for EU accession will be the Serbian government’s main concern in the upcoming period, and added that many of these laws will represent the future framework of the republic’s constitution.
Markovic said that the constitution is one of the pre-requisites for the completion, and not the beginning of negotiations on the SAA, and that numerous laws that are being adopted will contribute to the constitution’s easier drafting.
