BIA hands over documents on ‘Informbiro’ to Serbian Archives

The Serbian Security and Intelligence Agency (BIA) said today that, considering the historical and cultural significance of the available archive documentation funds, it is continuing the handover of documentation to the Serbian Archives, in accordance with the law and the BIA director’s decision on the permanent handover of archive material.
According to the statement, the complete handover of documentation related to the ‘Informbiro’, dating from the period of 1948 to 1975, took place today.
The documentation, consisting of 770 personal files, on 32,000 pages, was singled out, analysed, and prepared for the permanent handover to the Serbian Archives. The archive material was transferred from the BIA headquarters to the Serbian Archives, with appropriate security measures.
The Security and Intelligence Agency will, in the upcoming period, continue to analyse and prepare the archive material for the handover to the Serbian Archives, concludes the statement.
