Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic spoke today with Vice Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China Qian Keming about the continuation of successful cooperation between the two countries.
Knezevic stressed that economic cooperation between Serbia and China follows traditionally good political relations, which are based on mutual understanding and respect.
According to Knezevic, the total foreign trade amounted to more than $1.9 billion last year, and is expected to exceed this amount this year.
The Minister added that the relations between the two countries are at the level of strategic partnership, especially in the sector headed by him, stating that this is also reflected through some of the most significant Chinese investments in Serbia - HBIS in Smederevo, Zijin in Bor, Linglong in Zrenjanin and other.
Speaking about further cooperation, the interlocutors agreed that a session of the Mixed Commission of the two countries should be organised as soon as possible.
Keming told Knezevic that there is room on the Chinese market for increasing export of food and agricultural products from Serbia.
