The representatives of the Serbian government presented the Conclusion adopted by the Serbian government today, which refers to the ban on abuse of public resources for political purposes.
During the meeting, it was emphasised that the reform of the election process is a continuous activity that involves taking measures before and after the elections.
The members of the Working Group told the representatives of the OSCE and ODHIR that, in addition to the Conclusion adopted today, several more such documents are expected to be adopted in the coming period in order to improve the election process in our country.
The Working Group also outlined measures that the government of Serbia plans to implement in the near future, which relate to the activities of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, as well as the Republic Electoral Commission in order to improve transparency of the entire election process.
First of all, it concerns the updating and accuracy of the electoral roll, training of authorised persons, drafting of publications and a number of other measures that will be taken.
Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Chairman of the Working Group for Cooperation with the OSCE and ODHIR Nebojsa Stefanovic presented the possibility of amendments to certain laws in order to improve the election process.
It was also agreed that the Working Group should provide the names of the areas and measures in which concrete assistance from the OSCE and ODHIR experts is expected and it was concluded that the first meeting of the members of the Working Group and representatives of the OSCE and ODHIR has been constructive.
