The Serbian government adopted at its session today a bill on offences, a bill on changes and amendments to the Law on Judges, and a bill on changes and amendments to the Law on the Regulation of Courts, and sent them to the parliament for adoption.
The government also adopted a bill on changes and amendments to the Law on Employment and Unemployment Insurance.
The government decided to adopt a programme for solving the problem of layoffs in the process of privatisation.
A decision was passed on the prices and minimal excise tax on tobacco products.
The government also passed a decision on the type of foreign currencies that diplomatic missions and consular posts in Serbia-Montenegro are using to pay the administrative taxes.
A decision was also passed to form a Board of Ministers for Diaspora to solve diaspora-related issues more efficiently. Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica will chair the Board, and the Board members will include Minister of Diaspora Vojislav Vukcevic, Minister of Interior Dragan Jocic, Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo, Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic, Minister of Education and Sport Slobodan Vuksanovic and Minister of Culture Dragan Kojadinovic.
The government agreed to invest in the modernisation of hydro-electric plants Ovcar Banja, Medjuvrsje and Bajina Basta.
The government agreed to give a one-off aid of 20 million dinars to the citizens of Nis who have very low living standards.
It was also agreed to allocate 5.5 million dinars from the budget to the Serbian Broadcasting Agency, and 35 million dinars for the repairs and restructuring of the Serbian national library.
