Serbian government has paid today the second part of severance payments to workers in companies from the defence industry- ‘Zastava oruzje’ from Kragujevac, ‘Krusik’ from Valjevo, ‘Sloboda’ from Cacak, ‘Milan Blagojevic’ from Lucane, ‘Prva iskra’ from Baric and ‘Prvi partizan’ from Uzice.
With the signing of the contracts between these companies and the Serbia-Montenegrin Ministry of Defence, conditions were met so that the Ministry of Finance could pay out the 703.5 million dinars needed for these purposes.
The Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Affairs has paid 531.65 million dinars to this date, including today’s payment. This has allowed for payments in four of the six companies, with the total paid to each employee accepting voluntary retirement calculated at €200 per year of service.
This ministry will be able to allocate an additional 170 million dinars when complete records from ‘Zastava oruzje’ from Kragujevac and “Krusik’ from Valjevo are submitted, thus allowing for the workers of these two factories to receive their entire severance payment.
The Serbian government and relevant ministries have, in this manner, fulfilled their promises given to the workers in the Serbian defence industry. The speed of realisation of part of the obligations depended on other participants in this process, and all the obligations that were strictly under the jurisdiction of the Serbian government have been fulfilled within the promised and the shortest possible deadlines.
