Demonstration of strength, training of Serbian army, police

On the occasion of the Victory Day in World War II, the "Defense of Freedom" parade was held in Nis, with more than 4,000 soldiers and police officers, about 300 combat and non-combat vehicles and systems and 40 aircraft, showing strength, preparedness, and ability.

The military-police parade was attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, members of the government of Serbia, Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic, Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina Milorad Dodik and President of Republika Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic.

The parade, which was held in Nikola Tesla Boulevard, with the presence of numerous citizens, began with the intonation of the "God of Justice" anthem, followed by the festive defile of the infantry echalone, defile of the motorised echelon, the flying airline and parachute echalone.

Citizens were able to see combat vehicles of infantry, tanks, hammer fighting vehicles, firearms systems and other kinds of equipment.

After the end of the parade, President Vucic told soldiers and police officers that Serbia is proud of their efforts, diligence and training.

Thank you very much for this magnificent day. In an impressive way we marked the Day of Victory over Fascism and showed once again that we are returning debt to those who gave us freedom. Serbia is a free country and will not allow anyone to endanger its freedom, Vucic said.
