Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric today met with UNMIK Chief Zahir Tanin to discuss the current political and security situation in the southern Serbian province and the upcoming UN Security Council session dedicated to Kosovo.

Djuric presented Serbia's position that the UN Security Council should continue to discuss the situation in Kosovo-Metohija on a regular quarterly level.
According to Djuric, Belgrade is grateful to the UN Mission in Kosovo-Metohija for its quality work and status neutrality, stressing that thanks to many years of experience, a belief has been built that would enhance political and legal security and better conditions for progress in the dialogue through the greater role of UNMIK in the province.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija once again emphasised the sincere and consistent commitment of Belgrade to peaceful resolution of disputes in the region through political and diplomatic means, as well as the desire to continue dialogue with Pristina.
