In his address to reporters after the meeting with Pens, Vucic said that this was an extraordinary meeting, during which a high level of agreement on key issues was achieved.
He said that he congratulated US President Donald Tramp and Mike Pence on the election victory, as well as on the important things that they do for their country and invited them to visit Serbia.
We also discussed the issues that pose a problem for both Serbia and the region. I think that we have made it clear that it is important that those problems be resolved in a peaceful and civilized manner, but that we try not to maintain things at the level of frozen conflict in the coming years, but to see what we can deliver as solutions in the coming period, Vucic underlined.
I think that this meeting, after important meetings with senators and representatives of the US House of Representatives, contributed to the strengthening of Serbian-American relations, creating greater confidence and even stronger friendship, the President of Serbia explained.
Vucic added that he also talked with Pence about preserving the territorial integrity of Serbia and about relations with the Russian Federation.
I told them that Serbia is on the European path, and the United States supports this path. But Serbia has friendly relations with both the Russian Federation and all other countries, Vucic stated.
The President of Serbia said that the ways of attracting US investors was also discussed, pointing out that the increase in trade exchange and the arrival of investors means better political relations.
Yesterday Vucic also had meetings with representatives of American companies such as Cisco, General Electric and Coca Cola, during which he informed them about the economic reforms that Serbia has undertaken in the last two years and the improvement of the business climate for foreign investors.
Also, the Serbian President met with the chairman and co-chair of the Senate Subcommittee for Europe, Senator Ron Johnson and Senator Chris Murphy, and attended a working lunch with the co-chairs of the Serbian Congressional Congress, Congressman Ted Poe and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver.
