The decision on calling the election will come into force with the date of its publishing in the Official Gazette, when the deadlines for its implementation will also begin.
Candidates for the President of the Republic can be proposed by registered political parties, coalitions and groups of citizens if a candidate is backed by certified signatures of at least 10,000 electors.
The proposal for the candidate should be submitted to the Serbian Election Commission (RIK) no later than 20 days before the day of the election.
The order of candidates on the electoral list shall be determined by lot.
The candidate who wins the majority of votes of the electors who cast their vote shall be elected the President of the Republic.
In case no candidate wins the majority of votes of the electors who cast their vote, the voting shall be repeated within 15 days since the day of the first voting.
In the repeated voting, i.e. in the second round, the candidates will be the two candidates who won the greatest number of votes in the first round and the winner will be the one who wins more votes.
