After talks with High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, together with Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, Nikolic told RTS that it all comes down to Belgrade implementing its assumed obligations, while the same is not expected from Pristina.
He said that he does not harbour great expectations from the evening's discussions with representatives of Pristina, and that he hopes at least for an agreement on behaviour in some situations, such as the recent events with special police forces sent by Pristina to the north of the province.
Nikolic said that an independent Kosovo is impossible as long as there is Serbia.
Nikolic said that the topics included a Serbian train "that was supposed to be subject to destruction and its passengers were supposed to be killed."
When Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and I stopped the train in Raska, the question is why special units appeared in the north of Kosovo, he said noting that the Serbian Prime Minister informed diplomats of that, he said.
Serbia will continue to respect its Constitution regarding Kosovo, he said noting that the Albanian side has to fulfill its obligations too, especially regarding the Association of Serbian Municipalities.
Nikolic also said that Belgrade has never reacted to the threat of weapons when the independence or even the Greater Albania were promoted.
What happened with our train could not be a reason for conflict and war, Nikolic said.
He also said that Mogherini has not made any proposal tonight, but said that Mogherini feels that there is a deadlock in talks at the highest level.
The Serbian president reiterated that there are no talks on Kosovo's independence, but if Kosovo Albanians want to negotiate peace and a better life together, Serbia is in the mood for it.
Nikolic said that the dialogue, in spite of differing opinions, makes sense.
The dialogue always makes sense. It had sense before 2012, and it completely makes sense after 2012, because it led to the easing of tensions, said Nikolic.
