Mihajlovic underlined on the occasion that Serbia is among the top ten countries which recorded the biggest jump on the list this year.
According to the new methodology of the World Bank, Serbia has advanced seven places compared to the last year, while our leap according to the methodology to date is 12 positions and she recalled that last year our country has progressed as much as 32 places.
She said that the greatest merit for this success goes to the introduction of electronic building permits, conducted by the relevant ministry.
Last year we were on the 139 place in this field and now we are the 36th in the world. In two years, we improved our score by an amazing 142 places, Mihajlovic emphasised.
Good results were also achieved in the fields of electronic tax collection, reducing the time for starting a business and registering property.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that this is the success of the entire ministerial team and NALED, who worked together on the best possible position of Serbia on the "Doing Business” list.
Now a lot of work is ahead of us, considering the fact that in the coming years we will have to work much more in order to continue the trend of improving the position on the list, Mihajlovic stated.
"Doing Business" list is important because it is formed by businessmen who do business in a given country, the Deputy Prime Minister explained and noted that each investor, before deciding to make an investment, checks the country’s ranking on this list.
The better Serbia is ranked on this list, the more investors we will have, as well as more jobs, better living standards, and a better future, Mihajlovic stated.
