Belgrade, May 6, 2005 –The Serbian Privatisation Agency said today that at the second session, held on April 25, the tender commission approved the results of the tender and accepted the list of bids for 70 percent of socially-owned capital of the Kragujevac road construction company (PZP), declaring the Nis road firm as the highest ranked bidder.
According to the statement, a consortium of Belgrade-based Caricin Grad and Slovenian Ceste Tehnika were ranked second, while the bid from a consortium of Belgrade-based Merkat, Zitkovac-based Miljkovic, was declared invalid at the commission’s first session.
The highest ranked bid includes a purchase price of €5.1 million, an investment program worth €5 million and the acceptance of all obligations from PZP’s social welfare programme, as well as a series of other obligations stemming from this programme.
Now that the rankings have been announced, the Privatisation Agency and the Nis road construction company will enter into negotiations to define the specifics of the purchase agreement. If the talks are successful, the Agency and the buyer will sign a contract within 30 days from the beginning of the negotiations.
