Antic pointed out that our country, with the support of friends from abroad, provided more than €100 million for projects.
He recalled that in 2014 more than 200 million cubic metres of water was spilled on surface mines, and added that the Serbian government in a very difficult situation confirmed to be able to solve problems and provide the energy stability of the country.
The Minister also stressed that we have a strong energy sector, and expressed gratitude to all employees for the extraordinary engagement.
According to Antic, two years ago, about a third of Serbia was affected by catastrophic floods.
The project funded by the United Kingdom gave key findings of the report on lessons learned from the floods in May 2014 as well as the Local operational plan for the defence of the torrential floods in Lazarevac for the year 2016, he said.
Antic pointed out that the project was implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in cooperation with the Public Water Management Company Beogradvode.
British Ambassador to Serbia Denis Keefe said that this project proves the strength of bilateral relations between Serbia and Great Britain.
He pointed out that less than two years ago, the municipality Lazarevac suffered great damage as about 300 hectares of land was flooded and more than 500 homes were damaged as well as 1,100 metres of the embankment.
