Speaking before members of the parliament, Vucic explained that he had filed the motion for dismissal because of one statement made by Minister Gasic, given that government members are required to have courteous, moral and decent behaviour.
Our society must be decent, and Serbia a normal and modern state, he said and added that he asks members of the parliament to confirm his decision on dismissal for the sake of courtesy, morality, decency and respect which we have to show to others.
According to Vucic, Serbia does not need divisions and our country cannot stand that, just as it cannot stand the growing violence against women and children, which has roots in elementary rudeness.
Decency is required from all of us and that is our obligation if we want to live in a country where we will respect all the others and to be respected by them. That is a model that we will give to our citizens, the Prime Minister stated.
He underlined that behaviour of ministers at the same time gives a framework to society, which will be as decent as members of the government of that society.
That is why our decisions also must be decent and that is the only reason why I signed the decision on dismissal that I had made more than a month ago and which is in front of you today, the Prime Minister stated.
The Prime Minister called on members of the parliament today not to be representatives of the people and parties only, but an example for the entire society and to accept the motion for dismissal, with due respect for serious work of Minister Gasic during his term in office.
The results achieved by the Minister of Defence are very good because he has done a lot for the Ministry of Defence, Serbian Army and the military industry during his mandate, Vucic added.
