The delegation, headed by Bishop of Zahumlje and Herzegovina Grigorije, met with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and officials of the US administration, State Department and US Congress.
The church dignitaries told the Prime Minister that their talks in the United States mainly focused on Serbs’ position in Kosovo-Metohija and their fundamental human rights being jeopardised.
They especially pointed to the return of expellees back to Kosovo-Metohija.
The church delegation received assurances that it is necessary to work on improving the respect of human rights in Kosovo-Metohija, noting that the role of state institutions and the Serbian Orthodox Church in that process is unavoidable.
