At the second meeting of the National Committee for Investments at the Palace of Serbia, she pointed out that the formation of this committee is one of the steps that the government of Serbia has taken in this direction.
This body works on implementing the agreements reached last year in Berlin involving all Western Balkan countries on the development of infrastructure projects, particularly in the areas of transport and energy networks, she explained.
She pointed out that the entire Western Balkan region should thus become closer to membership in the European Union.
Numerous meetings were held in Belgrade, Pristina and Brussels and concrete steps were taken, and there is support from the EU, said Joksimovic.
The Minister stated that an agreement on planning is necessary as well as implementation of strategically important infrastructure projects in Serbia.
It is also necessary to make an agreement on the development of regional infrastructure and the European transportation network.
She explained that it is important that the government and relevant ministers reach consensus on the most important projects.
Political support is also needed, Joksimovic said adding that the government is fortunate to have a Prime Minister who is personally interested in investments and monitoring their implementation.

EU Commissioner for the Neighbourhood and Enlargement Policy Johannes Hahn said that the European Commission is interested in financially supporting the building of the Nis-Brestovac railway on Corridor 10 and an intermodal terminal in Belgrade and also other investments, such as a gas line between Bulgaria and Serbia.
He said that the European Commission has already studied the methods of support to some projects with EU funds, but wants to be sure if the expropriation issues have been resolved or are at a later stage.
We want to support projects that have great strategic value for the country, but also for the region, he said.
