Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin said that 17 March 2004, when more than 4,000 Serbs were expelled from Kosovo-Metohija was a pogrom that was done in a methodical and premeditated manner and was never punished.
Author of the book "Europe has died in Pristina" and winner of the Order of St. Sava of the First Degree Jacques Hogard said that only the one who remembers and does not forget can have a future.
Tonight we want to remember with emotions those who lost their lives, health, home, those who lost their freedom, such as Oliver Ivanovic who pays the price for the great love for his homeland and his people, Hogard said.
He underlined that France has been Serbia’s friend for more than 100 years and it will remain so regardless of political events.
The Youth Philharmonic Orchestra "Borislav Pescan” and the choir of the Faculty of Arts in Pristina – Zvecan participated in the artistic part of the programme.
The formal academy was organised by the Serbian government.
The Remembrance Day of the 2004 March Pogrom is being celebrated for the first time as an integral part of the programme marking the anniversary of historical events.
