Addressing the press in the Hague, after the reading of the final judgement, Selakovic said that the International Court of Justice, deciding on the genocide claim by Croatia against Serbia, concluded that Croatia did not manage to prove its accusations that a genocide had been committed in its territory.
Regarding the counter claim of Serbia against Croatia, the Court also dismissed it in its entirety because Serbia did not manage to prove that a genocide had been committed, nor that there had been an intention to commit genocide during and prior to the military operation “Storm”.
The Minister stated that this judgment to dismiss the claims by Serbia and Croatia has been expected and our country has no reason to be dissatisfied.
The Court concluded that the crimes were committed by both members of the Yugoslav National Army, and members of the Croatian Army.
The Court invited both parties to help each other and cooperate.
Serbia will remain fully committed to cooperation, stability and peace in the region, and to prosecuting war crimes in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, regardless of the ethnicity of perpetrators and victims, the Minister stated.
