Stefanovic said on this occasion that the Republic of Serbia has certain operational knowledge regarding the tragic murder of Sindjelic and insists that the investigation should be initiated, completed in the near future and that suspects be prosecuted, saying that this is a crime without precedent.
The Minister of the Interior handed over to the Head of the EULEX the evidence which the Serbian side obtained into this case.
Stefanovic and Meucci agreed that the neutral status of the EULEX is of great importance for the trust of all citizens in the province.
It is in the interest of the Republic of Serbia that the security situation in Kosovo- Metohija be stable and to achieve full security of the Serbian population in the province, Stefanovic said.
Stefanovic and Meucci also spoke about measures that should be taken in order to solve the problem of illegal migration and illicit trade in excise goods and drugs across the administrative line.
The Head of the EULEX Mission in Kosovo-Metohija said that the mission will intensify the investigation into the killing of member of the Gendarmerie Stevan Sindjelic.
We resolve all outstanding issues through coordination and information sharing, Meucci said, adding that exchange of information between EULEX and Serbian institutions will be intensified in the future in order to prevent attempts to trade in excise goods and drugs, reads a statement by the Ministry of the Interior.
